Beppu... Beppu... Beppu... (Day 2)

OK so we wake up at the crack of dawn on Day 2 (10am) and get ready for the day ahead. We discussed our plans for the entire trip the night before so we were right on schedule. Before setting off, we decided to fill our stomachs with calorie filled goodness to get us going through the day. I chose the following:

Megamac set (meal) + Green Tea Oreo McFlurry (trust me, it tastes heaps better than it looks in the photo)

Green tea McFlurry is AWESOME!!! an it's way bigger than any McFlurry you'll find in Sydney too.

Binkz also chose a megamac set

Before ordering we decided that we were gonna have a race to see who could finish their Megamacs first; to seethe better man was (hence our game faces). The result? Well... let's just say that it's a minor detail and you guys don't have to know. P.S. I swear Binkz cheated, she bought a regular Big Mac instead of a Megamac.

He lost to Binkz so bad hahaha - twas a sign of the day to come...

After brekky we headed out to the bus stop to get to our first destination. At the bus stop we saw this kid:

Pfft, acting like he's never seen Engrish before. Sif!

Next stop: Monkey mountain!

Summer Bay: Beppu

"Hey gheylord" - Tin
*Turns around and smiles* - Binkz

Binkz high on sugar and pumped for Monkey mountain

Good times featuring James and Becs

Monkey masks: a sign of things to come

Argh! A monkey's gone loose!

The monkeys would've looked like this if we came at juuuust the right time.

Becs and Binkz getting re-acquainted with family

The Japanese have the best illustrations

Pick your poison: Fast route or slow route

Soooo clooooose to those little baby monkeys

Monkeys chilling out with people

They all just walk around... unless you walk towards them they pretty much ignore you

So in a nutshell like the name suggests, monkey mountain is a place where monkeys can live and chill out while tourists (like us) can visit them and entertain them once in a while. It's crazy how they just hang out around us like we're not even there. Very interesting...

Sitting around in the shade...

This cool cat knows how to roll (he was sleeping)

The sign reads: "If your name is Tin, you are so very cool"

Little baby monkey having a nap >.<

Then it was feeding time, the rangers came out and scattered food across the floor:

I have no idea how all the monkeys at the top found out that it was feeding time because they were coming from everywhere.

'Twas crazy business - they just swarmed!!! and started picking the food off the ground... Jimmy took a video...
And that was Takasakiyama Monkey Park!
Time for some randomness!

Sea-lions go "oink-oink-oink"

After leaving Monkey Mountain we were deciding whether it was worth it to go to the aquarium next door. We decided not to, and decided to go to:

It was expensive - thinking back there should've been a cheap combined ticket...but oh well

Harmonyland AKA Hello Kitty Land!

We decided to head into the gift store first, I felt very un-manly walking into this place. Why you ask?

For Linh and Monty: Chicks, i looked like a stalker and had to pretend i was taking pics of the gift shop. I deserve a thanks!

Next we headed into Hello Kitty's house:

Correction - it was Hello Kitty Palace!!

...And i was a happy camper

Oh he wasn't always a happy camper - this was him when we were waiting to go in:

*cries* why am i HERE!?!?!

James stole the little girls bed
And i showed off my piano skills on Hello Kitty's piano
The Hello Killy Ferris Wheel

If you look very closely you will notice that Quoc is all tense and terrified LOL

View from the Ferris Wheel

After Harmonyland we headed back home for some R&R. Night time arrived and it was time to go out for some random sightseeing around the city.

The most bad-ass Geta i have ever seen, price: ~$165AU. Unfortunately they were too small for my feet.
The women's geta were so SMALL - i couldn't jam my feet in them -and i have size 6 feet!
More Geta

Japanese alcohol + Binkz

Becs and Binkz being drunk

Ahhhhh chicken, real mans food. I missed it!
You mean real MEAT - chunky MEAT

Ice cream - YUM!

errr....

We then went to Karaoke to end the night. Japanese karaoke machines have an awesome song list. Binkz tried Asahi beer for the first time and this is what happened:

That's it for Day 2. Damn these blogs are taking ages to do. Stay tuned for Day 3 action!
