Weekend trip with Aesthetics engineering lab

As students at a Japanese University we were assigned to a professor and his lab. Our professor is Kimura sensei, and the students in our lab are structural engineers. Our lab doesn't really do field trips but downstairs the aesthetics lab do, and Kimura sensei (K-dawg as we like to call him) was kind enough to ask them to take us along.

We set out in three cars on a terrible rainy Saturday morning. I slept and when i woke up we had arrived. I'm not exactly sure where we went really... but the first place we visited was called Dazaifu Tenman-gū.

We first headed to some temple places, i love Japanese architecture so it was fun to see. The weather sucked though but we had to make the best of a bad situation:

This is the front garden of a house where you sat in the veranda and peacefully gaze out into the backyard. It was really pretty

We stop by this rustic little village, where some famous guy (can't remember his name now) from Japanese history sat on a rock. LOLOLOL the guys were like "OMG (Insert name of famous samurai here) sat on this rock! quick! take a photo!".

The bridge we drove up extremely windy and narrow roads to see cos it was designed by the best bridge builder in Japan who's the friend of this sensei.

Two no three months on...

Thee months (and counting) since we've arrived in KIT, it feels so much longer!

It feels like i've been here for 6 months (BTW that dp you put up is terrible!)

So... what's changed and what on earth have we been doing?

well... i'm almost used to seeing people carry parasols - apparently the Japanese are terrified of getting skin cancer. Apparently the 50+ SPF sunscreen isn't enough protection.

and i'm almost getting used to seeing more girly boys than manly men... almost.

sadly i'm also getting used to seeing either pretty boys or fugly guys... it's one or the other there's no avoiding it... that's why Tin gets so much attention from girls AND guys LOL

as above. no comment...

finally after two months I've noticed an improvement in my japanese!! i've 'leveled up' as the Japanese would put it.

kitakyushu is still boring! granted we haven't been to all of the touristy places... we will though!! but right now it's つゆ or rainy season - lasts an entire month and it sucks.
i also now know why the japanese use hankerchiefs... the humidity makes me sweat way more than in Sydney.

i wish i had a car, the rain sucks because i can't go anywhere in the rain! and when its sunny it's freaking hot! i'm dying in the humidity!

actually in our third month stuff has been happening! Tin's facebook is the best place to go for updates cos he bothers to upload photos =P

i'll put photos up on the blog when i feel like it... i'm still recovering from the long ass beppu blogs, they took forever!

Remember to revisit our old blogs as we sometimes upload extra photos and stuff. I guess we'll be writing again soon!
